Air Arabia is set to reintroduce daily nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, India, starting October 16, 2026. This development will reestablish a direct air route linking the UAE emirate with the coastal city located in Kerala. The airline made the announcement on October 6, indicating that tickets for the route are now available for booking. The daily flights will reconnect Ras Al Khaimah International Airport with Kozhikode International Airport in southern India, restoring a vital link for travelers.

According to Air Arabia, the return of this route will facilitate direct daily connections between the UAE and India, with Kozhikode—also known as Calicut—situated on Kerala’s Malabar Coast in southern India. The airline’s October 6 statement did not include specific departure and arrival times, nor did it specify the aircraft type or flight numbers for the resumed daily service, as these details were not included in the latest release.
Adel Al Ali, the group chief executive officer of Air Arabia, expressed satisfaction with the reinstatement of this direct route, emphasizing that the daily flights will provide travelers with a convenient link between the two cities. He also reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to offering dependable travel options and strengthening community connections. The decision to resume the route was driven by the demand for travel between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, although the airline did not release any passenger forecasts or traffic estimates.
Kerala Connection Reestablished with Daily Flights
The Kozhikode service joins Air Arabia’s existing nonstop network from Ras Al Khaimah, which already includes destinations such as Cairo, Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar. The upcoming India route will expand this network starting October 16. Since beginning operations at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport in May 2014, Air Arabia has maintained the emirate as one of its UAE bases and has consistently operated from there.
The airline initially launched nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode on November 22, 2023, operating three times per week with Airbus A320 aircraft, with flights scheduled on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays under flight numbers G9 728 and G9 729. The upcoming 2026 restart will increase the service frequency to a daily basis; however, the airline has yet to confirm whether the previous flight numbers or departure times will be retained for the renewed schedule.
Booking Options Open Ahead of October Resumption
Passengers interested in flying on the resumed route can secure their tickets through Air Arabia’s official website, its call center, or via authorized travel agencies, as confirmed by the airline at the time of announcing the October restart. The statement did not specify when the route was previously halted or the reasons for the interruption, nor did it include fare details, specific operating times, or aircraft allocations for the new daily service. Instead, the focus was on the restart date, frequency, and the direct city pair involved.
The route’s return on October 16 marks nearly three years since Kozhikode was last served by Air Arabia from Ras Al Khaimah. This service will once again provide a nonstop connection between Ras Al Khaimah and Kerala. While the airline’s announcement confirms daily flights from the restart date, additional schedule specifics such as timings, flight numbers, and fares are available through the airline’s booking channels. No further changes to the route have been announced at this time.
