SHARJAH / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia is set to commence direct flights connecting Sharjah International Airport with Amman City Airport starting November 15, 2026. This newly introduced route will operate four times weekly, broadening the airline’s network linking the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Currently, Air Arabia already offers flights from Sharjah to Queen Alia International Airport, which is the main airport serving the Jordanian capital. The new service offers travelers a second option for flying into Amman via the airline’s Sharjah network, further expanding its scheduled routes to Jordan.

Flights on this route will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with flight G9 169 departing Sharjah at 8:00 a.m. and arriving in Amman at 10:30 a.m. local time. The return flight, G9 170, will leave Amman at 11:20 a.m. and arrive in Sharjah at 3:15 p.m. local time. Customers can now reserve seats for this route through Air Arabia’s website, call center, or travel agencies, with bookings available ahead of the route’s official start.
This addition enhances Air Arabia Group’s existing Jordan operations by establishing a new direct connection from Sharjah. The group currently links Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi with both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport, and also operates flights from Alexandria International Airport to Amman City Airport. The new route from Sharjah thus extends the group’s presence in Amman to another UAE departure point, complementing its ongoing Jordan services.
Air Arabia broadens access to two Amman airports
Adel Al Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, highlighted that this new route provides travelers with a second gateway into the Jordanian capital, emphasizing that it will offer increased convenience and flexibility for those traveling between the UAE and Jordan. The airline announced the new Sharjah route on October 8, more than a month before its scheduled launch in November, and it will operate alongside the existing Sharjah flights to Queen Alia International Airport.
Earlier this year in 2026, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi launched its own service to Amman City Airport, beginning on May 1 with three weekly nonstop flights from Zayed International Airport. This route, which also serves Queen Alia International Airport, provides travelers with two options for flying from the UAE capital to Amman. According to Air Arabia, as of April, these two Abu Dhabi routes together accounted for 10 weekly flights to Amman since the second airport service started.
Sharjah route introduces four new weekly flights to Jordan
Operating under flight numbers G9 169 and G9 170, the new Sharjah service follows a consistent four-day weekly schedule. The airline’s fleet includes Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, which are used across its extensive network. Customers can also enjoy features like SkyTime streaming service, SkyCafe onboard menu, and the Air Rewards loyalty program. Reservations for the Amman City Airport flights can be made through the airline’s established sales channels ahead of the service’s official launch on November 15.
This expansion strengthens Air Arabia Group’s network within Jordan by connecting Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Alexandria. From Sharjah, passengers will have direct flights operated by Air Arabia to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Meanwhile, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi also services both airports, and Alexandria maintains a direct link to Amman City Airport. The upcoming November launch will add four scheduled weekly flights between Sharjah and Jordan’s capital, further extending the group’s regional connectivity.
